Jaguar Shows a New Engine for Their Cars

Car manufacturers are not only developing new models and concepts, which will satisfy the demands of the consumers, but also they are developing special parts of the cars, which will be a unique feature of their cars. Mainly such developments are protected by patents, so that what was developed in one auto concern stays there and serves them and not their competitors. At the same time, new parts are a source of new income for the car manufacturers, because they can later sell the rights to use their new developments. What concerns the most luxury bran on the market, Jaguar, it has been involved in the development of the new engines and what it has done so far is presented in this article.

Jaguar company introduced a new six-cylinder V-twin engine of 3 liters capacity and 340 hp, and even showed the commercial video of the unit. The motor itself is equipped with a Roots-type supercharges, and depending on the configuration, can produce 340 and 380 horses, while the torque reaches 450 Nm. The basis of this aluminum V6 engine is made out of five-liter eight-cylinder unit with supercharging unit.

Most likely, less powerful version of the new engine will be put on the XF and XJ models, and the 380-strong modification of the motor will growl under the hood of a small sports car F-Type.
