Jaguar Company revived cult roadster XKSS

As part of the auto show in Los Angeles, British company Jaguar officially presented to the public revived roadster XKSS, more precisely, it was the most accurate replica. Original open car, which many experts call “one of the first supercars in the world,” was produced the British brand 60 years ago.

Briefly recall that roadster Jaguar XKSS was developed in 1957. Open sports car was based on the chassis of racing Jaguar D-Type. The British company had planned to sell only 25 copies of roadster Jaguar XKSS, but nine of them were destroyed by fire at the brand factory. Now division Jaguar Land Rover Classic decided to restore historical justice and rebuild the missing copies of the iconic model, giving them the original chassis number.

It took a year and a half (18 months) for creating of roadster Jaguar XKSS by specialists of Jaguar Land Rover Classic. They used the original sketches from the Jaguar archives, as well as data of 3D-scanning of machines survivors to revive the historical model. It allowed saving original idea of open car. Body of revived roadster Jaguar XKSS, as well as the body of the original model, was made of magnesium alloy. According to representatives of the brand, all details of the roadster Jaguar XKSS are brand new.
