Jaguar auto concern has always been the modern presentation of technical innovations in the car business. And lately they have been concern with the ecological situation, thus some time ago, they have presented an ecologically friendly version of Jaguar XJ. Today Jaguar has demonstrated a hybrid car XJ_e, CO2 emissions of which is below 75 g/km and fuel consumption is 3.2 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. According to Bob Joyce, technical director, Jaguar is by far the largest British investor in the production of ecological cars today. According to him, XJ_e is a living proof that a hybrid car can reduce carbon emissions of the vehicle up to 70% without compromising the driving performance of the car.

Jaguar XJ_e is equipped with a 2-liter petrol engine with turbo charging and direct fuel injection, 69-kilowatt electric motor and a lithium-ion battery that can be charged from a household outlet for 4 hours. Also the car was a hybrid 8-speed automatic transmission. The machine can be moved both by a petrol and on electricity only, and combining both engines.
