British engineers prepared 237 improvements for a retro-sport car

The David Brown Automotive Company from Britain will bring a modernized retro sports car Speedback GT built on Jaguar XKR to the Geneva Motor Show in March. Firstly, this car was launched in limited production in 2014, but the carmakers reworked the model and prepared 237 improvements for a new model. The standard model shared only a power plant and windshield frame. In addition, for Speedback GT 142 models there were prepared 142 aluminum handmade body panels.

The new sport car has the same power unit as the Jaguar XKR model. The novelty has under the hood a supercharged five-liter V8 engine that is able to generate 510 horsepower. The motor allows the car to get 100 km/h in less than five seconds. Speedback GT’s top speed is limited at level of 250 kilometers per hour. The Jaguar Company has several optional sports packages that allow improving the modified version and making the car stronger and faster.

The customer will need to pay about 495,000 pounds (577,000 Euros) to possess such retro model. The company intends to move the build pad of Coventry in another place, which will allow increasing the production and hiring more people.
