Jaguar Land Rover Classic has prepared an exclusive car especially for Tech Fest in London. The car is based on the E-Type of the 1968 year. The new E-Type Zero exterior has not been changed except the modern LED lights instead of lamps. The other fragments of the XXI century are visible only in the cabin and under the hood. Thus, we can find carbon fiber plastic, digital equipment, media system and a large screen and driving mode selector.

The novelty was built in the Jaguar Land Rover Classic workshops in Coventry, near the place where the original E-type was once born. The engineers changed a motor by an electric drive under Zero’s hood. The electric motor is placed behind the battery, where there was a gearbox. Further, the cardan shaft transfers the traction to the rear axle. The power of E-Type electric engine makes 220 kW or 229-hp. The prototype’s acceleration to 100 km/h is 5.5 seconds. The driving distance is 270 km on one charge. The time for car’s charge is equal to 6-7 hours.

The authors of Zero reported that the E-Type chassis, including suspension and brakes, are the same. The static weight distribution between the axles also does not change. All this allowed keeping the car’s character in motion.
