The new generation of British sports car Jaguar XE can get a powerful eight-cylinder engine from the F-Pace SVR model. But truly saying automaker is not in a hurry to confirm officially this information.
The Golden Age of Jaguar came in 1961 with the appearance of E-Type. In 1963 the Company released racing model Lightweight E-Type, the successor of E-Type Low-Drag Coupe of 1962 model year. Despite the fact that initially it was planned to release 18 copies of Lightweight E-Type, for some reason, only 12 sports cars were assembled until 1964.
Jaguar Company has decided where the production of promising electric vehicle will be launched. We are talking about the first electric crossover called I-Pace. It turns out that the production will be organized at the company Magna Steyr in Austria. According to representatives the novelty will appear on the market in 2018.
Concept of electric crossover Jaguar I-Pace had just debuted at the auto show in Los Angeles, and prototype of production model is already passing the tests on UK roads. Disguised test vehicle is hiding under the camouflage the bottom part of the body and rear spoiler, and under its hood there is 400-horsepower (298 kW and 700 Nm) electric power train, exactly the same as in the concept. You can see on the pictures that there are no air vents on the front bumper and that the car received a new grille. The height of the roof is slightly reduced, and at the same time, the wheelbase is extended.
After the pre-announcement, British company Jaguar officially unveiled its first electric SUV I-Pace Concept. Presentation of the novelty, which is preparing to become a great competitor of Tesla Model X, took place at the International Motor Show in Los Angeles.
